Gotham
Three galleries showing New York at night, New York under construction, and people on the streets of Manhattan. Blue lived at the infamous 177 Bleecker Street in the Village for two years at the turn of the century, and took up that curious strolling habit of shooting that New York photographers have adopted en masse. But he would make his walks late at night, in empty streets, which few photographers bother with. "If you live in that city, you're exhausted every day, and the last thing you have is the energy to waste in the hours before dawn," he says, "Unless you're a stranger. Then it's easy to wander the shiny dark streets and shoot for hours." Click here to see the galleries.
Oaxaca
Blue has traveled to this city more than a dozen times, and has found a hundred different personalities. "It is modern, with all the warts that entails, and colonial, with all the scars that means, too, but it is hard to go there and not come away with a lot of memories," he says. "Mexico is a magical place, but Oaxaca is the spirit in that magic." Click here to see the gallery.
The Imperial City, USA
"I come from Washington DC, where all the world's problems come from," says Seanie Blue whenever he is in trouble and is asked for identification. How many officers of the peace have smiled at this line in different places on the globe? Gallery is up and can be seen by clicking here.
Holyoke, Massachusetts
The ice cream van still patrols around the streets, tinkling its charms, popsicles and creamsicles, but the people are a lot poorer and nothing costs a dime anymore. Small town America in a medium-sized city, crumbling, wasting. Click here to see the gallery.
Old Blighty: Ordinary scenes from England
Scenes from Camden Town, Lincolnshire and London, unlike the tourist portfolios for each. Random styles in shabby normalcy, it takes a British education to reject the Empire's rules. Click here for the gallery.
Barcelona
It is not Spain, and never make the mistake of thinking that it is. Barcelona is the jewel of Catalonia. Robust, ambitious, unSpanish, this is the city of the 21st century. Gallery up soon.
