Throwing Stones At the End of the World

Abbi is throwing stones into the ocean. We are at the end of our wits and the end of the world, hanging onto identification as lovers suddenly alone and separate. I tell her these stones she throws into the sea took millions of years to reach her feet, and now with one toss she's put them back to the start. She laughs a little and says, Don't worry, Seanie, they will be back. I walk back up to the hotel made of driftwood in Djupavik and watch her as I sit next to the stove, separated, alone.
