THE COPY WRITER

Frat Boy Poison, or The Copy Writer, is a fantasy exercise in continuous action while the characters switch realities. The inspiration for the story was my sudden and odd friendship with Switi Carma -- the dancer Kristina Berger. She moves phenomenally, and I found myself trying to interpret her impulses and interests through an audience's eye, and in the process of doing this lost interest in ensemble theatre or cinema. Working one on one with somebody willing to be mused and muse became my M.O., and te words for this script flew ontonapkins and bus tickets and sweaty palms. We filmed pieces of the story, though nothing from the script, and Kristina was clothes horse, character, Venus, and a fountain of eros, all done sublimely, without comment or conscience. She was she, and allowed herself to be dressed in my screenplay.
